About Kyle

Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Kyle received music education in the public school system as well as through private music lessons and active participation in a local Governor’s School designed for intense music study.  He then earned a Bachelor of Music in Education and flute from James Madison University where he studied flute with Dr. Beth Chandler and music education with Dr. William Dabback & Dr. Lisa Maynard.

Throughout his scholastic career, Kyle has won several competitions and has had master classes with Jill Felber (University of California at Santa Barbara), Dr. Brad Garner (College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati), Trevor Wye (world renowned flutist) and others.  While growing up in Virginia, Kyle has enjoyed being active in working with various orchestral and chamber ensembles in the concert halls and musical pits.

Most recently he auditioned for and received a graduate assistantship through the School of Music at Ohio University where he will be studying, teaching, and performing to earn his Master of Music beginning the Fall 2012.
